I used to think these things were ridiculous. I slowly evolved into wanting to try them, to actually trying them, to finally buying my own pair. I tried them on in an outdoors store up in Arcada, CA during METoC and was surprised at how comfortable they are. I finally splurged and got them on Black Friday. They weren't on sale or anything. That was just when REI happened to have them in stock in my size. I snapped this photo right before I wore them to the gym for the first time.
